The 2018 SSSF Vision 20/20 campaign fundraising goal has been exceeded thanks in part to tremendous team participation and donor support on #GivingTuesday! While SSSF match funding has been exhausted, there is still $60,000 up for grabs in BONUSMidwayUSA Foundation team endowment funding for team donations received before January 1st! The Vision 20/20 campaign received 59 donations totaling over $30,500 on #GivingTuesday with several teams reaching out to unique donors. There are two team competitions that continue through 12/31/18 with $30,000 each in MidwayUSA Foundation team endowment funding up for grabs as follows:

About #GivingTuesday The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November 27, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
The SCTP and USA Shooting would like to announce dates for next seasons events including the Junior Olympic Development Camp and the SCTP International National Championships! The SCTP’s JODC will be held from May 21st – May 27 for interested coaches and from May 23rd – May 27th for chosen athletes! Up to 10 SCTP coaches wanting to learn more about coaching the International disciplines of International Skeet and Bunker Trap along with 24 lucky athletes will be invited to stay at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. and learn from the nation’s top coaches and team USA members! Applications will be available about February 1st. Also, the dates for the SCTP International National Championships will be held from July 22 – July 27, 2019. July 22/23 will be open training, July 24/25 will be set for International Skeet Competition and July 26/27 will be slated for the Bunker Trap competition with an awards banquet to follow on the evening of the 27th at a location to be determined. The top placing athletes in Trap and Skeet will be chosen to be members of the SCTP’s National Team coached by Terri DeWitt! “We appreciate all the folks at USA Shooting for working hard with us to get these dates set for the 2019 season” said SCTP National Director, Tom Wondrash. “This will give families, athletes and coaches plenty of time to make plans for attending these great events and learning more about the International disciplines. Opportunities like these are what the SCTP is all about!” These opportunities are available exclusively to members in good standing with the Scholastic Clay Target Program. Join the SCTP National Team for a December mental training camp with Dr. Jason Selk, Director of Mental Training for the St. Louis Cardinals. We are very fortunate to have been able to schedule Dr. Selk to come work with us. Dr. Selk will be presenting a half-day seminar based on his book, 10-Minute Toughness. This book combines all of the concepts including breathing, visualization, task-centered focus, goals, etc. A copy of this book will be provided to all athletes attending the camp. At this time the only openings remaining are for coaches. What: SCTP NT mental training camp w/ Dr. Jason Selk Who: SCTP NT members and NT alumni (and walk-ons as determined by available slots) When: Friday, December 14th, 12:30 - 4:30 (Dr. Selk’s seminar with some live-fire) Saturday, December 15th, 9:00 - 4:00 (range training with Coach DeWitt and Coach Buffa) Where:Fairfield Sportsmen’s Association, 6501 River Road, Harrison, OH 45030 How:Download the application form and return with payment before November 28 *Ammunition will be available for purchase on site, to include Winchester AA #9 for Skeet. The Scholastic Clay Target Program’s 2018 National Competition from the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio will be the featured story on the Wednesday, October 31, 2018 Shooting USA Sports Television broadcast at 8:00 PM Central on the Outdoor Channel. The episode will be re-broadcast twice more in 2019. Check the current airing schedule at www.ShootingUSA.com for upcoming shows. This year’s SCTP Nationals featured over 5,600 registrations by 2,256 athletes between 9 years of age and college from 26 states across the country. Overall attendance including siblings, parents, and guests exceeded 10,000 making this year’s SCTP Nationals the largest SCTP event in our history. Tom Wondrash, National Director of the Scholastic Clay Target Program was thrilled with this years competition. “ This years national event featured some of our closest team competitions and the energy and enthusiasm was “off the charts”. The 2019 SCTP Nationals are scheduled for July 13-20 at The Cardinal Shooting Center.
In 2016 the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation launched a campaign entitled, “VISION 20/20” with the goal to grow national youth participation in the Scholastic Clay Target Program and Scholastic Action Shooting Program to over 20,000 student athletes annually by the year 2020. In partnership with industry partners, civic organizations, member teams and DONORS like you the SSSF will provide the opportunity and funding for more students to join existing shooting teams and create new teams where none exist today. Tax-deductible contributions to the Vision 20/20 campaign benefits local shooting teams by providing immediate cash needs for next season and future support via MidwayUSA Foundation team endowment account growth! Contributions to your favorite SCTP or SASP team must be made before the end of the year. Where does my donation go? Your donation benefits the Scholastic Clay Target or Scholastic Action Shooting Program team you specify and the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation. For example, you make a $100 tax-deductible donation to support your favorite team, the Clay Blasters. The Clay Blasters will receive the following:
$50 as a cash grant from SSSF paid to the Clay Blasters in January, 2019 for the upcoming season's needs
$25 is sent from SSSF to the Clay Blastersteam endowment account held at the MidwayUSA Foundation to support the team forever.
MATCH FUNDING: MidwayUSA Foundation will match the $25 at their current program rate to the Clay Blasters' team endowment account.*
MATCH FUNDING: Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation will add $125 to the Clay Blasters' team endowment account.*
*Match funding is possible because of the generous donations from Larry and Brenda Potterfield.
*SSSF match funding is limited to the first $175,000 raised in the campaign.
$25 is retained by the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation to start new Scholastic Clay Target and Scholastic Action Shooting Program teams where none currently exist.

How does my local shooting team get involved in this campaign? Only active Scholastic Clay Target Program and Scholastic Action Shooting Program Teams are eligible to participate in the Vision 20/20 campaign. Getting your team involved is simple and involves the following steps:
Raise funds however your team deems most effective. This could include sending in funds from current or previous local fundraising efforts, soliciting donations with an email invitation via your team network of coaches and parents, asking local donors and/or advertising on social media.
Submit donations to SSSF either securely online or via the print-and-mail form prior to January 1, 2019. Be sure to include your SSSF team ID on ALL donations so the donations can be allocated correctly. SSSF will provide you with periodic updates about donations received for your team.
Bonus Funding Opportunity All teams participating in the Vision 20/20 campaign will have the opportunity to win BONUS team endowment funds! There are two competitions taking place:
