The 2019 Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) National Championships is scheduled for July 13-20th at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, OH. Last year's event had nearly 300 teams and 3,000 athletes from 26 states! We hope you can join us for this season finale!

Like last year, due to the extremely large volume of teams and coaches trying to squad for the National Championships, we will again be allowing teams to “pre-squad” for the 2019 SCTP National Championships at the Cardinal Center in Marengo, Ohio.
Here’s how it will work: 1. Send a check for the proper amount of all squads and athletes to the Burlington WI address post marked no earlier than 12:01am on May 15th and no later than midnight on May 22nd.
2. Money received is “Non-Refundable”. Pre-registration fees will not be returned for any athletes that do not attend the SCTP National Championships.
3. All squads must be “pre-built” on your team’s home page for the National Championships. Teams will be allowed to change athletes as they see fit later but all squads must be ready to populate the shooting schedule.
4. SCTP will populate the squad assignments based on the time and date received (time stamp) on the envelope containing your paperwork and check. PLEASE send by regular mail with NO signature required. Sending paperwork requiring a signature may delay your paperwork!
5. Download and complete the pre-registration form (also available on the SSSF website) that provides your information along with dates and times you would like your squads assigned. Please give us 3 options for times and days.
6. Teams will be notified of their pre-registration by May 29 and before normal registration which opens on June 1st.
Note: Completed form(s) must be sent in with payment either by credit card or by check, no payment sent in with forms will result in no squads entered for that team. These payments are “nonrefundable”!! If you pay for 15 athletes and only 12 show up, the other 3 athlete’s fees are not returned.

The NSCA-SCTP All-American Team recognizes SCTP athletes who compete in NSCA registered events. To be eligible for the SCTP All-American Team, a shooter must be a member in good standing with NSSA-NSCA and SCTP, must shoot a minimum of 500 NSCA registered targets, and must shoot their respective SCTP state or regional shoot or the SCTP National Championships. The NSCA-SCTP All-American Team will be determined via points earned by competing and placing against other SCTP athletes.
NSCA-SCTP All-American selection will be divided into four teams, including Open Sub-Junior, Lady Sub-Junior, Open Junior, and Lady Junior. Eight members will be selected to each team. Points can be earned from January 1 to December 31, with the team being selected in the spring of the following shooting year. Athletes who are selected to an NSCA Sub-Junior or Junior Concurrent All-American Team will not be eligible to make the NSCA-SCTP All-American Team. See the 2019 team...

On Monday, February 18, 2019 Tom Wondrash, National Director of the Scholastic Clay Target Program announced the launch of their “new and improved” SCTP Virtual Scoring Platform for SCTP teams across the country. “The SCTP Virtual Scoring Platform is something we have been working on for a while” stated Wondrash. “Our goal was to provide a competitive platform for our teams that are located in more remote locations across the country or in areas where there are not teams close by to compete with”. The SCTP Virtual Scoring Platform can be used by any current SCTP team and is accessed through the SHOT system on the website. SCTP teams can compete in Trap and Skeet via the SCTP Virtual Scoring Platform. Keep in mind, there is no charge to be part of any of the SCTP’s Virtual tournaments, they are all part of the yearly athlete registration fee! Wondrash explained, “using the SCTP Virtual Scoring Platform is easy. Teams shoot our standard distances and number of targets, the same as an “in person” match and record those scores in the virtual platform. Our first Trap & Skeet National Tournaments will begin April 15, 2019 and run for six weeks, all teams must be registered by Sunday, April 14th at 8:00 PM CST. Scores must be entered in the system by midnight of each Sunday, no exceptions! First, second, and third place teams will receive shotguns that can be used for team fundraisers or just used for team guns. We will also award 2 other firearms by random drawing of all other teams that participated and entered scores for the entire 6 weeks, that’s 10 firearms in all! 5 for Trap and 5 for Skeet! The National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) - Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) All-American Team recognizes SCTP athletes who compete in NSSA registered events. To be eligible for the SCTP All-American Team, a shooter must be a member in good standing with NSSA-NSCA and SCTP, must shoot a minimum of 500 12-gauge NSSA registered targets, and must shoot their respective SCTP state or regional shoot or the SCTP National Championships. The NSSA-SCTP All-American Team will be determined via 12-gauge average. An athlete’s 12-gauge targets registered in the shooting year (January 1 to December 31) will be used to determine the team. The NSSA-SCTP All-American selection will be divided into six teams which include Open Sub-Junior, Lady Sub-Junior, Open Junior, Lady Junior, Open Collegiate, and Lady Collegiate. Eight shooters will be selected to each of the Sub-Junior and Junior teams. The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation is proud to invite all qualified 2019 Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) athletes to apply for the SSSF All Scholastic Team. The All Scholastic Team recognizes achievements of student athletes in the shooting sports for their accomplishments in the classroom, in their communities and on the range. Eligible athletes of all ages are invited to apply. See the profiles of the 2018 All Scholastic Team members.Requirements for the 2019 application are as follows:
Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Applications must include transcript through the last grading period ending on or before April 1, 2019. Transcript for 9thgrade and above must include cumulative GPA for academic career.
Must meet one of the following shooting qualifications and supply proof of official match record. Match record must be from official shoot bulletin, SCTP or ATA/NSSA/NSCA/USAS/SASP leaderboard or equivalent. Copies of scoresheets or statements of scores from coaches will not be accepted. Clay target scores must be from a whole event, for example one 200 target event, two 100 target events or four 50 target events. Picking and choosing rounds from different events is not acceptable. Applicants must submit 200 targets for American disciplines.
1. SCTP (skeet or trap) – achieved 190/200 targets (or equivalent in lesser target format) in a competition between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019 OR 2. SCTP (sporting clays) – achieved 170/200 targets (or equivalent in lesser target format) in a competition between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019 OR 3. SCTP (bunker trap, international skeet, or international doubles trap) – achieved 110/125 targets in a competition between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019 OR 4. SASP – achieved a total match score of 75 seconds or less in an SASP match between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019

Must supply a photograph suitable for publication
Deadline for application is May 10, 2019, 5:00PM central time, no exceptions. Application Instructions All applicants must go online to the survey collector to complete the application. You will need to provide your SSSF athlete ID (ask your coach to lookup in the SHOT system), name, email address, phone number, school attending, state of residence, grade level, which program(s) you are qualified for, GPA and information on the shoots/matches attended to qualify the applicant. Supporting materials for the application must include official transcripts from the last grading period ending on or before April 1, 2019, proof of shooting record, two letters of recommendation from a coach, teacher, or other adult 3rd party and a photograph suitable for publication. All materials must be electronic and uploaded to the survey collector as part of the application. Two letters of recommendation, proof of shooting record and transcript must be uploaded as ONE file (.pdf file is preferred) to the survey collector. Mailed or emailed applications will not be accepted. All applications must be submitted to the survey collector no later than May 10, 2019, at 5 p.m. central time.
