Ruger Vaquero revolver auction to benefit SASP
Ruger Firearms has generously donated a Ruger® Vaquero 45 Long Colt single-action revolver to benefit the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). The revolver is being auctioned on Gunbroker.com now through January 16th at 9:17 AM.
The Ruger® Vaquero® was first introduced in 1993 and is recognized as incorporating the frontier virtues of strength, reliability, and durability. This revolver has a high-gloss stainless steel finish. The serial number 55-03064 tells us this revolver was rollmarked February 15, 1993. “RUGER VAQUERO® .45 CAL.” is stamped on the left side of the cylinder frame. The Vaquero is equipped with a rounded blade front sight with no ramp and a fixed notch rear sight in a groove on the topstrap. Other features include a 5-1/5 inch barrel, a 6-round 45 Long Colt cylinder, and rosewood grip panels with silver and black Ruger Eagle medallions inserted in the grips. This Vaquero revolver had been stored in a brown hinged cardboard box along with an appropriate instruction manual and locking device. The revolver has not been fired beyond normal factory testing, and is being sold “as is.” The purchaser assumes all liability for its safe and proper ownership, storage, use, and resale. The revolver is a part of the Ruger factory collection in Southport, Connecticut, and a Certificate of Authenticity will be mailed to the winner of the auction. The serial number on this rifle is 760-01613, and the roll mark date is July 22, 1992. The M77® Mark II Express rifles were initially made within the “780-“ prefix serial number range. After a few hundred Express rifles were built, the serial numbering was then changed to the “760-“ prefix. This rifle has not been fired beyond normal factory testfiring. The rifle features a 24-inch blued barrel with matted quarter rib and is factory machined to accommodate Ruger scope rings. It has a blade front sight and v-notch rear express sights: one stationary and two folding that is drift adjustable for windage. Other features include a black composition forend tip and black rubber recoil pad with embossed Ruger® eagle logo. The steel pistol grip cap also features the Ruger® eagle logo. The M77® Express rifle has a steel hinged floorplate and trigger guard with a staggered box magazine that holds three cartridges. The stock is polyurethane-finish French walnut with checkering on the pistol grip and forend. A set of sling swivels and a set of scope rings are included with this rifle. It will be shipped in the rifle box it had been stored in along with an original manual and marketing materials. The Ruger® Blackhawk® single-action revolver in .357 Magnum was Sturm, Ruger’s first-ever centerfire revolver and is the foundation of the legendary Ruger single-action family. Available only in 2005, the 50th Anniversary New Model Blackhawk offers a unique opportunity to own a revolver with the look and feel of the original “Flat Top” design and all the benefits of 50 years of continuous refinements. Like the 1955 Ruger Blackhawk, the 50th Anniversary New Model Blackhawk is chambered in .357 Magnum with a 4-5/8 inch barrel. It offers many original features including a blued, original Blackhawk-size “Flat Top” frame with a micro-adjustable rear sight, and a smaller pre-1962 “XR-3” grip frame with checkered “hard rubber” grips bearing original-style black Ruger medallions. This 50th Anniversary New Model Blackhawk has a serial number of 520-02060 and was roll marked March 16, 2005. It was shipped to Automated Finishing for engraving work and features a Western-style scroll engraving on the top strap, cylinder, cylinder frame, and grip frame. This engraved model WAS NOT a regular production. The revolver has been stored in its original red plastic 50th Anniversary Blackhawk case along with an anniversary booklet, original instruction manual, marketing materials, case lock and keys. The serial number is 103-13221 and the rollmark date is September 29, 1982. In 1985 Ruger announced that, after 25 years of continuous production, it would stop manufacturing the famous Model 44 autoloading carbine. Ruger offered a Special Edition of 1,800, 25th Anniversary .44 Carbine rifles to celebrate the close of an era. The anniversary rifle was listed in the 1985 catalog and the suggested retail price was $495.00. The 25th Anniversary Model 44 Carbine shows the compact design and classic lines which contributed to the great success of this model. These Limited Edition rifles are specially rollmarked “1961 – 1985 ~ 25th ANNIVERSARY” on the barrel, and they have a specially designed nickel silver medallion set into the walnut stock. Features of this rifle include an American walnut stock with a barrel band at the front of the forend. a folding-leaf rear sight with a reversible U/square notch plate adjustable for elevation and a gold bead front sight. The frame is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. It also features a curved, metal butt plate and tubular magazine that holds four cartridges. The 25th Anniversary .44 Carbine will be shipped in a special Anniversary box along with an original manual, purchaser record card, and a “Firearms Safety Depends on You” booklet. Also included in this auction is a .44 Carbine 25th Anniversary medallion, along with a “blank” box end label and a 25th Anniversary decal. The stainless P95 Manual Safety model pistol was first introduced as “NEW” in the 2001 Ruger® Firearms Catalog. The serial number of this pistol is 314-42695 and the testfire date is February 2, 2001. The pistol has never been fired beyond normal testing during manufacture. The pistol’s slide is made of Terhune Anticorro stainless steel and features nearly indestructible resin grip panels and a custom compounded polymer frame. This manual safety model pistol incorporates a manual ambidextrous lever that, when engaged, prevents firing unless the lever is in the “fire” position. The KP95 pistol will be shipped in a gray plastic pistol case along with one 10-shot magazine and appropriate instruction manual. An original 2001 Ruger firearms catalog is also included with this auction.
