Register now for the 2017 SCTP Regional Tournament to be held at the MTA home grounds in Mason, Michigan, on Saturday, June 3, 2017. The event is open to all registered SCPT teams. Federal Premium Renews SCTP and SASP Sponsorship for 2017

Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation Scholarship Program

The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation is proud to announce the 2017 SCTP and SASP Scholarship Program. The scholarship program rewards deserving Scholastic Clay Target Program and Scholastic Action Shooting Program graduating seniors with needed college assistance. Through this program the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation has provided over $200,000 in scholarship funds in the last four years to assist high school seniors in pursuing higher education. The main objective is to award as many scholarships as possible to qualifying SCTP / SASP graduating seniors. The application deadline is April 17th so, apply now using our online application form at sssfonline.org! SSSF is establishing minimal guidelines for the selection procedure, thus allowing the final selection to be as simple as possible. General Procedures:
  • Each applicant must be a graduating senior within the year of the awarded scholarship and must be registered for college before the scholarship is awarded in that same year.
  • Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average through the most recent grading period ending on or before April 1, 2017.
  • Each prospective recipient must be registered as a full-time college student before the scholarship is awarded and must provide the name of the post-secondary college or community/ junior college to receive the scholarship proceeds. Each scholarship check will be mailed to the appropriate college in the student's name by October 1, The scholarship funds are to be used for tuition, fees, etc. This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship.
  • Applicants may not be in receipt of any "full" scholarship funds in order to qualify (i.e., athletics, military academy, academic, etc. ).
  • Applicants must have participated during 2016-2017 in one of their SCTP / SASP State Championships, National Championships, or regional events in Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, or Olympic Bunker; Olympic Skeet Championships, Pistol or Rifle.
  • Applicants must be able to complete all parts of the application packet:

SASP Coaches, We Need Your Help

Now that SASP is almost five years old, we have athletes who have graduated from high school and maybe even college, and we’d like to spotlight some of them in upcoming issues of Range Time.  Can you take a few minutes and think about your past SASP athletes and reach out to them to get their stories of what they’re doing post-SASP? We have athletes who have gone into the military, law enforcement, medicine, etc., and we’d like to let our readers know how great our athletes are even after leaving SASP.

SASP Welcomes Eliot Jardines as New Virginia State Advisor

SASP is pleased to announce Eliot Jardines as the new Virginia State Advisor. Jardines began working with youth shooting sports when he ran the BB gun range at Cub Scout day camp. He holds NRA certifications as a level 2 pistol coach and CRSO.  Jardines is the founder and head coach of Team LoCo Motion in Purcellville.  In addition to SASP, he has worked with both Civil Air Patrol and Sea Cadets units on marksmanship and pistol qualification.  Jardines has three sons and his older two are involved with SASP.  He has been actively involved with getting two new teams up and running and is very excited to help expand SASP in the Commonwealth.

SCTP and Winchester Continue Relationship in 2017

Register Now for the 2017 SCTP Lower Midwest Regional

Registration is open for the 2017 SCTP Lower Midwest Regional to be held at the Ellis County Sportsman Club in Waxahachie, Texas, June 10-11, 2017. MidwayUSA Foundation team endowments will be available and team and individual awards and prizes will be presented. Two Tri-Star Setters o/u shotguns will be given away!
