Columbia, MO - The MidwayUSA Foundation has a unique career opportunity for those interested in helping change the future of youth shooting sports. The national 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to help communities and organizations raise funds to support their high school and college shooting teams and activities is seeking a Program Manager. The Program Manager’s primary responsibility is delivering Team Endowment Program services to their respective region. This position works to maximize the development of the entire program through fostering the growth of individual team endowments. The ideal candidate has fundraising knowledge, experience with a youth shooting sports team, strong communications skills, and a passion for growing and sustaining youth shooting sports. Potterfields Donate Over $200,000 to MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment Program

Larry and Brenda Potterfield, owners of MidwayUSA, recently donated $205,342 to the MidwayUSA Foundation to benefit youth shooting sports, including SCTP and SPP teams. This donation stems from the matching program offered by the MidwayUSA Foundation. Donors have the ability to choose the shooting team that will benefit from their donation, and Larry and Brenda Potterfield match that donation. Along with the matching program, the MidwayUSA Foundation offers its active teams promotional items to use as fundraisers. Larry and Brenda Potterfield also match proceeds generated from these promotions and returned to a team’s respective endowment account. The MidwayUSA Foundation is a public charity working to sustain the shooting sports industry by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams. Shooting teams with a Team Endowment Account can draw 5% of their account balance each year to use for team expenses. The funds are used for ammunition, uniforms, entry fees, travel costs and more. SPP Teams Earn Endowment Funds in Virtual Match Series

Congratulations to Scholastic Pistol Program teams who have submitted entries into the 2015 Virtual Match Series and been drawn as winners of team endowment funds. Recent winners of $1,000 contributions to their endowment accounts are:

Each month through December, SPP will hold a random drawing among teams who submit SPP Virtual Match scores that month. Winners receive a $1,000 team endowment account contribution. Kolar Raffle Winner and Team Endowment Recipients

Congratulations to Jerry Baumann of Traverse City, Michigan, who was drawn as winner of a Kolar Max over/under shotgun during the 2015 National Team Championships in Sparta. KolarMr. Baumann's name was drawn and announced on July 17 during the Last Competitor Standing competition, and SCTP National Director Tom Wondrash was able to reach the lucky winner by phone while the crowd watched. The raffle drawing culminated a fundraising program that earned money and endowment contributions for teams who sold the raffle tickets, as well as funds for SCTP. The top 5 ticket-selling teams also received bonus endowment awards for their MidwayUSA Foundation accounts as follows:

MidwayUSA Foundation Grant Deadline Is June 15

MidwayUSA Foundation's grant cycle is in full swing! The foundation is now accepting applications from teams for grants to pay for shoot entry fees, uniforms, ammunition, and other team expenses, and the deadline for this cycle is fast approaching. Any team with a balance in its MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment Account can apply for a grant once a year. If you have an account balance and did not apply for a grant in December, you are eligible. The deadline to apply for a grant during this cycle is June 15. Want to receive your funds even faster? Larry & Brenda Potterfield Donate Over $700,000 to SSSF in April

Larry and Brenda Potterfield, owners of MidwayUSA, donated $717,875 to the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) on April 15 to allow SSSF to support new and existing youth shooting teams. The funds will be used by SSSF as donations to team endowment accounts at the MidwayUSA Foundation. “The continued generosity of Larry and Brenda Potterfield to the youth shooting sports is unmatched," said Ben Berka, SSSF President and Executive Director. "With this gift from the Potterfields, the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation will be making donations to team endowment accounts at the MidwayUSA Foundation throughout the year.” Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) member teams are eligible to earn these endowment funds through shooting competitions and SCTP- or SPP-sponsored fundraising programs. These fundraisers enable teams to raise awareness in their local communities while raising money, both to use now and to grow their endowment accounts. Teams are eligible to withdraw a portion of the funds in their endowment accounts each year to use for equipment, travel, ammunition, uniforms, and other team expenses. SPP Teams: Earn Endowment Funds with Virtual E-Postal Matches

SPP teams, don’t forget about the opportunities to win a random-draw prize every month just for participating in the Virtual E-Postal Match Series! Starting in April, SPP teams participating in the Virtual E-Postal Match Series will be part of a special monthly random draw prize of a $1,000 donation to a team’s MidwayUSA Foundation Endowment account. This special event will run from April – December 2015 and is open to any team or squad that participates in the Virtual E-Postal Match Series. To be eligible, a team or squad must register three (3) scores -- but remember, the more times you enter, the more chances you have to win! In addition, we will be offering endowment donations as placement awards. This year we will be using a Lewis Class system during the Virtual Match Series. There will be two (2) Lewis classes, and endowment money will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in all divisions. In Class A, the donations will be 1st - $1,250, 2nd - 1,000 and 3rd - $750. In Class B, the donations will be 1st - $1,000, 2nd - $750, and 3rd - $500. Virtual E-Postal Matches are a great way for teams to compete and earn endowment funds while saving the time and expense of traveling. Don’t miss out on this additional way to come and play!

Help MidwayUSA Foundation Create a Tagline

MidwayUSA FoundationIf you are an active team with the MidwayUSA Foundation, they want your help! The growth of the Team Endowment Account Program has been phenomenal, but they want to offer their financial assistance to even more teams. In an effort to continue branding the MidwayUSA Foundation and support more teams, they want to develop a tagline and are asking for your ideas. A tagline is a short phrase (5-7 words) that can quickly explain or clarify what an organization does. In their case, MidwayUSA Foundation offers sustainment funding to youth shooting teams across the nation. Submit your suggestions to MidwayUSA Foundation by March 9, 2015, and if they choose your team's suggestion, the Foundation will add $1,000 to your Team Endowment Account. SSSF Donates $45,100 to SPP Team Endowment Accounts at MidwayUSA Foundation

Last week, SSSF contributed $45,100 to the MidwayUSA Foundation on behalf of 23 Scholastic Pistol Program teams from 10 states. The donation represented team endowment funds earned in the inaugural Florida Law Enforcement Explorer Shooting League match and the Washington State Scrimmage, both of which were held on November 15. In addition, 12 of the teams earned endowment money through their participation in the 2013-2014 SPP Virtual Match target season. SSSF's latest contribution to the MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment Program brings the total to $446,000 donated to date in 2014 on behalf of SPP teams. The program expects teams to earn another $6,000 before year's end. The purpose of the MidwayUSA Foundation endowment program is to provide sustained financial support for youth shooting teams. Teams with an endowment account are able to draw a grant each year to use for team expenses. SSSF regularly makes endowment funds available for SCTP and SPP events and contributes them to participating teams’ endowment accounts at the MidwayUSA Foundation. Since 2011, SSSF has donated funding to several hundred team endowment accounts across 48 states.
