Ruger Auction for early model 10/22® Carbine Rifle

Ruger Firearms has generously donated an early model 10/22® Carbine rifle to benefit the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). The rifle is being auctioned on Gunbroker.com now through March 28, 12:30PM eastern time. This week’s auction item is an early model 10/22® Carbine rifle. The serial number is 111-44026. The rifle was manufactured May 3, 1972. The 10/22® Carbine rifle first appeared in the 1965 Ruger® firearms price sheets. This rifle had originally been sold to a distributor and returned to the factory. There are no notes as to why it was returned. This 10/22® Carbine Rifle has an uncheckered American walnut stock with aluminum buttplate. “MODEL 10/22 CARBINE – .22 L.R. CALIBER” is stamped on the left side of the receiver along with the Ruger eagle logo. The Sturm, Ruger address is stamped on the top of the barrel, and there is no manual warning on this rifle. Other features include: a blued 18-1/2 inch barrel; folding-leaf rear sight (adjustable for elevation); and gold bead front sight. Lyman was the original sights supplier and marked the rear sight blade with a triangular pointer below the curved sighting notch. The frame is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Also included in this auction are an appropriate instruction manual and 10-round rotary magazine. It will be shipped in the 44 Carbine rifle box it had been stored in. The rifle is being sold “as is.” The purchaser assumes all liability for its safe and proper ownership, storage, use, and resale. Ruger Auction for 2001 KP95 Pistol

Ruger Firearms has generously donated a 2001 KP95 pistol to benefit the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). The pistol is being auctioned on Gunbroker.com now through March 21, 12:30PM eastern time. The stainless P95 Manual Safety model pistol was first introduced as “NEW” in the 2001 Ruger® Firearms Catalog. The serial number of this pistol is 314-42695 and the testfire date is February 2, 2001. The pistol has never been fired beyond normal testing during manufacture. The pistol’s slide is made of Terhune Anticorro stainless steel and features nearly indestructible resin grip panels and a custom compounded polymer frame. This manual safety model pistol incorporates a manual ambidextrous lever that, when engaged, prevents firing unless the lever is in the “fire” position. The KP95 pistol will be shipped in a gray plastic pistol case along with one 10-shot magazine and appropriate instruction manual. An original 2001 Ruger firearms catalog is also included with this auction. Pheasants Forever to Host Iowa Shooting Sports Clinic

High School and Collegiate shotgun coaches & athletes are invited to this special 1 day clinic hosted by Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever. If you want to learn how to shoot better, or understand why you miss, you wont want to miss this opportunity.  Each clinic is open to shooters of varying skill levels and is customized to the needs of coaches and athletes. Attendees will learn from former Team USA member Terri DeWitt.  Terri is a level 3 NRA Certified Shotgun Instructor and is finishing her Master's degree in sport coaching as well as attending the International Shooting Sports Federation Coach School to attain international certification.  Most recently, Terri served as the MidwayUSA Foundation Program Manager for the eastern U.S. Terri also serves as the head coach for the Scholastic Clay Target Program International National Team. For the Coaches: Shooting Sports Clinics will help evaluate the skills and techniques of those coaches who introduce and teach trap shooting at the youth level.  Attendees will receive instruction and hands-on experience with athletes during the Youth Clinic. For the Athletes: Athletes will be provided a fun and safe learning enivronment that enhances the quality & abilities of young aspiring shotgun athletes.  The training will enhance the fundamentals an athlete needs to allow them to achieve greater consistency in training & competition. Ruger Donates 1982 Standard Model Pistol

Ruger Firearms has generously donated a 1982 Standard Model pistol to benefit the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP).  The pistol is being auctioned on Gunbroker.com now through March 14, 12:30PM eastern time. This week’s auction is a Ruger® Standard Model Pistol. The serial number is 17-76914 and the testfire date is February 11, 1982. This pistol has never been fired beyond normal testing during manufacture. Manufacture of the Standard Model pistols began in 1949 and were in production until the Mark II series was introduced in 1982. That makes this one of the last Standard Models produced. This pistol features a tapered 4-3/4” barrel; a fixed, wide-blade Patridge-type front sight; and a windage-adjustable, square notch, dovetail-mounted rear sight. The grip panels are made of butaprene-type hard rubber with sharp diamond checkering and a silver-colored Ruger eagle medallion inlaid in the right grip panel. The trigger is grooved and has a 3/8 inch wide curved finger surface. The Standard Model Pistol will be shipped in its original yellow and black-hinged cardboard box along with a 9-shot magazine, original instruction manual, purchaser record card, and marketing literature. Ruger Donates 1981 .44 Carbine Rifle to Benefit Scholastic Action Shooting Program

Ruger Firearms has generously donated a Ruger® .44 Carbine Rifle manufactured in 1981 to benefit the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP).  The rifle is being auctioned on Gunbroker.com now through March 7th, 12:30PM eastern time. You are bidding on a .44 Carbine rifle. The serial number is 102-64287. The rifle was manufactured January 28, 1981. There is some bluing worn off of the magazine release. It has an American walnut stock with a curved, metal butt plate, and a barrel band at the front of the forend. This 44R model features a blued, 18-1/2 inch barrel with a folding leaf rear sight adjustable for elevation, and a 1/16 inch gold bead front sight. The frame is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Volunteers Needed at College Nationals

The Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) is expecting a record turnout at the 2018 College National Championships at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama. The match is scheduled for March 10-11, 2018 and we need your help! We are looking for half day commitments to serve the roles of Safety Officers (SO) and scorekeepers. Working a match is a great way to learn more about the Scholastic Action Shooting Program! Also, for each half day worked you will be eligible for a random drawing for some great prizes! If you have never worked on an action shooting range before, please view our YouTube video outlining the safety rules, standardized range commands and responsibilities and our video on using Practiscore for SASP data entry. Additional training will be provided on-site for those new to action shooting. Volunteers must be at least 18 to work as safety officers. OSSA Awards Cash Grants to SCTP Teams

The OHIO STATE SKEET ASSOCIATION (OSSA) announced this week that they are awarding $250 each to the four (4) Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) Skeet Teams in Ohio for a total of $1000 to help with their operating expenses. This is the third year that OSSA has made cash grants to SCTP Teams. "OSSA is pleased to be able to support the SCTP teams and youth shooting sports, and in so doing, help grow skeet shooting” said Gustavo Acosta, OSSA President. “This generous grant by OSSA is a great example of how state associations can give back to their sport by investing in youth shooting” said Tom Wondrash, SCTP National Director. SCTP State Skeet Advisor, Dan Hathaway states, “ We are pleased to have the support of OSSA in our local, state and national events…this grant is much appreciated by the teams.” OSSA has over 150 members who compete in registered skeet events. OSSA sanctions National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) registered shoots held in the state of Ohio and operates the Ohio State Skeet Championship.
